Deadline to Schedule Road Home Initial Appointment*

THE LOUISIANA ROAD HOME HOSTS INFORMATION SESSIONS IN
AUSTIN, TEXAS     

Austin, TX., November 16, 2007- An Information Session on The Road Home Homeowner program will be held in Austin, Texas, on November 20. The Information Session will provide homeowners the chance to ask questions about program eligibility, application status, required documentation, and more. In preparation for a one-on-one consultation, homeowners are encouraged to bring their Application ID number. This session is free and open to the public.

*Applicants to The Road Home program must schedule their initial appointments by December 1, 2007. All appointments must be completed by December 15, 2007. Applicants who have yet to schedule their first appointments must do so by calling 1.888.762.3252. TTY callers use 711 relay. Homeowners who do not schedule this appointment by December 1 and complete it by December 15 will be considered ineligible to receive assistance from the program.

Louisiana homeowners who owned and occupied their homes at the time Hurricane Katrina or Rita, and suffered damage as a result of one of the storms, may be eligible to receive assistance through The Road Home program.

This groundbreaking program represents the largest single housing recovery program in U.S. history. Working together, Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, the Louisiana Recovery Authority and the Office of Community Development created The Road Home program with the approval of the Louisiana Legislature. The program affords eligible homeowners up to $150,000 in compensation for their losses to get back into their homes.
